7 Ideas to Keep Warm and Stylish this Winter

7 ideas to keep warm and stylish this winter with the cooler…colder weather here.  You can stay warm and cozy without losing style points this winter.  Forget the worn-out sweatpants and bulky clothes in exchange for a sleek and more sophisticated look.

Dress in Layers

First, dress in layers starting with a long-sleeved cotton shirt as a base layer.  Followed by a thin stretchy knit sweater, and then a long or short cardigan.  You can mix and match colors to add depth and interest to your outfit.  This look pairs well with dark wash denim jeans or black pants.

Blazer Jacket

Second, wear a blazer jacket or a fitted leather jacket in place of the long or short cardigan for a more tailored look.

Thermal Wear

Add thermal wear as a base layer—this is not your grandmother’s long johns!  You can find stretchy thermal under garments to wear as a base undershirt and/or leggings. The newer technology in fabric is thin, lightweight, stretchy, comfortable and wicks away sweat while keeping you warm. Check out the lines of pretty thermal wear at Target and Walmart.  The price point is unbelievable.

Scarves

Add a colorful scarf to your outfit and are easy, easy, easy to pack for travel.  Scarves add another layer of warmth, even more than you would think, as well as class and style to your look.  Scarves of all colors, shapes and sizes are inexpensive and available in light weight and heavier fabrics on Amazon.  Check out YouTube for easy and interesting ways to wear your scarf.

Thermal Socks

Thin, fun, colorful thermal socks can be worn with your ballet flats, loafers or boots.  Again the technology makes them thin, stretchy comfortable to wear while keeping your feet toasty warm.

Shoe Boots

Shoe boots pop a stylish staple to any winter wardrobe.  I like shoe boots, because they are comfortable great for travel and very versatile.  You can where shoe boots with pants, jeans, leggings and tights under fitted or flowing dress.

Head Covering

And number 7, last, but not least, wear a stylish head covering such as a fun stretchy beret or a heavy colorful headband.  Update your look with a fresh beret or whimsical headband, matched or contrasted with a scarf.  This adds style and warmth to any outfit.

And as they say, if you want to keep your toes warm, put on your wool cap.
