Three months of drinking celery juice

led me to my surprising results.  My quest for improved health and vitality has lead me down many roads including various diets, exercise routines, alternative healing and New Thought philosophy.  I continue this journey adopting and expanding various approaches as I experience beneficial results.

Anthony William

I stumbled upon the benefits of celery juice while participating in an online Tony Robbins program.  One of his speakers was Anthony William, the author of Medical Medium.  Anthony William is not a doctor, but states he receives medical information through channeling his Higher Self.  William has been criticized by the conventional medical community for practicing medicine without a license and making false claims.

Anthony believes drinking pure celery juice daily can help several ailments.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPTojw9AUoQ
Because standard medicine and a typical diet has failed to heal me, I have sought alternative approaches.  You must decide the best way to manage your health.  One way is copious research, education, personal trial and error.  Our bodies are unique structures that respond differently to food, exercise, and stress.  I have taken on the role of alchemist to discover my ultimate well-being.

Nurse Practitioner

As a retired nurse and nurse practitioner with 26 years of training, I was educated in mainstream medicine.  While I believe Western medicine has its’ place in our lives, such as treating emergency conditions and trauma, I have seen it fall short in the treatment of countless chronic conditions.  Often, American patients are over-medicated for chronic conditions and are at risk for side effects that may be worse than the disease itself.  Following a nutrient-dense diet, regular exercise, and stress reduction techniques, such as meditation, one can reverse or stop the progression of diseases like hypertension and diabetes.  A treatment plan should include addressing nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle, as well as standard tests, medication, and procedures, if indicated.  My own doctors have failed to discuss diet and exercise with me during my visits.

A Better Approach

I believe the best approach to better health is holistic by marrying the Western and Eastern medical regimen and addressing the entire person—mind, body, and spirit. This approach is both unconventional and time-consuming.  Our current U.S. system pressures doctors to see as many patients as possible per day.  Further, many American patients balk at the idea of changing their diet or starting an exercise program.  Rather than taking some responsibility for their health, patients prefer a magic pill.  In part, this devil-may-care attitude has contributed to the rise of obesity, illness, and a decrease in life expectancy in the United States.  U.S. citizens pay more for healthcare than our European counterparts, yet Americans overall health and quality of life is lagging behind.

Celery Juice

So…celery juice may be one staple to add to your diet to improve your overall health. Including celery juice to my daily diet has proven helpful.  I have consumed celery juice for the past 3 months.  I prepare the celery juice at our Airbnb’s using a hand/wand style blender.

We spent the summer in Portugal and Croatia. We will spend the fall and winter in Mexico.  At times, it has been a challenge to find celery in these areas, so a few days, I substituted cucumber as a back up.  I drank mostly celery juice daily and did not miss a day until we traveled to Mexico.

Our trip from Croatia to Mexico took 34 hours with sadistic travel times and a 20 hour layover in Frankfurt.  We were not allowed to leave the Frankfurt airport due to COVID-19, so we had to sleep on hard lounge chairs in the airport.  I have yet to find celery juice in any of these locals, so I would drink any kind of fresh juice I could find.  We had a 2 day layover in Cancun and then flew to Guadalajara to settle in for the next 1-2 months.  By this time, I had not consumed celery juice for 6 days.

Three Months of Drinking Celery Juice and the Results

In my previous blog, Celery Juice and 4 Major Improvements within 30 Days, I listed all the positive changes I had noted after 30 days of drinking celery juice.  With 6 days of no celery juice, some of the old maladies returned.  Sinus congestion, allergic rhinitis, urinary frequency, bladder pain (cystitis) reappeared.  I experienced fatigue and increased insomnia.  However, maybe this could be from the long travel and jet lag.

Having settled into Guadalajara, Mexico, now, I have drank some 12 oz of celery juice daily for the past 14 days and I am happy to report that these symptoms have again disappeared!  Coincidence?  Maybe, but this is a positive indication that the celery juice is working for me.  I will continue to drink celery juice  daily and monitor my progress…let’s say, get back after the first of the year, another 75+ days, as well as, through the regular flu season, let alone that other one!

Cheers, and stay healthy!
